Dive on the Lumb and Seawolf 3 Dec 25

Yesterday I conducted a dive on the Lumb and Seawolf located several kilometers out of Port Noarlunga.

Conditions were not the best due to prevailing weather. As soon as I was in the water, I could see that it was going to be disappointing as the water was dark green and vis was only one or two meters.  Descending to the Seawolf the vis. did improve maybe out to three or four meters. Immediately I could see the effect of the algae! There was not a single plant visible and what is usually a wreck teaming with life had virtually turned into a ghost ship.   Both wrecks were empty of life where there would be hundreds of small Bullseye fish hiding in the overheads and compartments of the vessels there was only a few crabs struggling to get by. As I swam around the wreck I would see an occasional fish. Where there used to be schools of fish there was only the dead remains of some juvenile leather jackets.
