A group from the Seawolves enjoyed a weekend away at Port Hughes. Dives were conducted at Wallaroo Jetty. This dive was training for Morgan as once in the water the vis was about half a meter and next time you saw your buddy it was on the surface after the dive. So no photos taken. That was Saturday, Sunday we conducted a dive at Port Victoria. Conditions were a lot better however there was very little in the way of fish life but the area did appear to be recovering and the water although still had a green tinge to it the visibility was two to three meters. Several nudibranchs were seen and plenty of crabs along with the odd puffer fish. Monday before Hedding home we decided to dive Port Hughes. Over the weekend there had been a lot of silt in the water from the recent rain. Looking down at the water from the jetty conditions did not look promising but we decided to dive anyway. Although the surface conditions were excellent underwater not so good you could make out the shadow of the next pylon visibility was about 2 meters. The jetty was showing some signs of recovery from the algae but still has a long way to go and the water is very green. Again, the majority of life along the jetty is crabs. with the odd nudibranch and a few small fish.
